When you think of people being larger than life it’s hard to think of anybody other than Shaquille O’Neal who recently decided to call an end to a 19-year career from the NBA. Even if you aren’t a fan of the NBA or follow professional basketball at all it was hard not to pay attention to the seven-foot tall, 320-pound behemoth of a “human being”. He’s seen by many in the NBA with ease one of the most dominant forces to ever play the game and you are not gonna get any debate from me.

Throughout his career Shaq put up ridiculous numbers with 28,596 points, the fifth most in NBA history. Shaq is first all-time in career field goal percentage and is second all-time in NBA All-Star game appearances with 15. He has won three All-Star Game MVP awards (NBA Finals MVPs) and more importantly he has won four NBA championships. But, we can’t forget that he has missed the second most free throws in NBA history. He played for the Orlando Magic, Los Angles Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and most recently with the Boston Celtics. (Official Stats)

Shaq’s size and strength were out of this world, and so was his personality.  I loved to watch Shaq’s press conferences after games. You just never knew exactly what he was going to say. He was funny and insightful.

With so many nicknames from Diesel to Shaq-Fu and the Big everything –Aristotle, Cactus, and Shamrock, he was never too large for the spotlight. From his hip-hop/rap career to his box office bombs, Shaq did everything big.

It’s hard to narrow down my favorite Shaq moments after 19 years of great sound bites and interviews. So… I hope you enjoy this video of some of Shaq’s best on the court highlights and his best off the court sound clips.  We’ll miss you Shaq.
