Iceland Music Festival Doc hits the Airwaves

Forget SXSW!  Join WCRX-FM Saturday March 10th at 7PM—AND A REBROADCAST SATURDAY MARCH 17TH AT 9AM– for the true indie music festival, Iceland Airwaves.  Bordering the North Atlantic and Norwegian Sea sits Iceland, a small country filled with beautiful landscapes and even more beautiful people.

The capital city of Reykjavik is home to one of the most renowned music festivals.  Since 1999 Iceland Airwaves Music Festival has been hosting a truly magical experience for music lovers and musicians alike.  This past fall 8 Columbia College Chicago students from Radio, Arts, Entertainment and Media Management, Journalism and Audio Arts and Acoustics headed over to blog the happenings at the festival and produced a documentary of these travels.

From music to food to the blue lagoon, each year the city is taken over by the music.  Every venue from the large auditoriums to the corners of café’s live music spills throughout the city.  Take the journey to a world where music is rules the day and night Saturday, March 10th, 2012 at 7PM, with an encore broadcast Saturday March 17th at 9AM on WCRX-FM 88.1 Chicago or online at www.WCRXFM.com.
