Columbia College Chicago Radio student Dan Malone had a chance to sit down and chat with Barb Ziegler, a prominent community activist on Chicago’s southwest side. Barb is heavily involved with activities at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea church. She is also a community representative in the 13th ward, as well as a C.A.P.S. beat facilitator for the Chicago Police 8th district. Lastly, Ziegler is a chair person for the Court Advocacy Program, which is a subgroup of C.A.P.S.
Dan and Ms. Ziegler discuss her duties as a C.A.P.S. beat facilitator and as a chairperson for the Court Advocacy Program. They also touch on how and why Barb became so involved with her community. Most importantly, Ziegler sheds light on why you should become involved with your community.
