Jurassic World: Nostalgia Overload

The film acts a sequel to the 93′ film which probably doesn’t make much sense as there was “The Lost World” and “Jurassic Park 3.” Fans and skeptics alike agreed that the sequels went astray from the formula that made the first movie so memorable.

Director Colin Trevorrow leaned on advice from original director Steven Spielberg to hit us 90’s lovers right in the feels. The film takes place at the original site of the first park, only with modern day technology. We see a familiar face (B.D. Wong) in the beginning of the movie as we are shown the DNA lab in which the biggest/baddest dinosaurs are cooked up for the Jurassic World masses. The movie is similar to the original film as we follow two young boys (Zach & Gray) spending their Christmas break at Jurassic World, a luxury resort while visiting their Aunt Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard). Midway through the movie it is brought to the attention of Jurassic World officials  that their beast like creation (Indominus Rex) has escaped, leaving them little time to evacuate the island which is full of guests. This doesn’t sound familiar does it?

Owen Grady (played by Chris Pratt) is one of the main characters in Jurassic World and plays a dinosaur researcher who happens to train velocriraptors.  That’s right…CHRIS PRATT TRAINS RAPTORS. The madness of that thought will drive you wild until you see the movie yourself. Trust me when I say that spending the little extra dough to see it in IMAX is worth every cent.
