God’s Plan is TOP of the BILLBOARD HOT 100

Screen Shot 2018-03-05 at 18.17.33

God’s plan makes it to the top of the HOT Billboard 100. Way to Go, Drake! I believe this song has earned its place in the bill. The concept of the song itself and the video is different and breaks stereotypes and like that Grape Juice article rightly said, the video tosses the rule book out of the window for a hit single.

Drake has proved that it is not all about the flashy cars, women, million dollar mansions, “ill” effects, that make a video popular but you can gain popularity or be appreciated through simplicity, and these elements are seen in the God’s Plan video. He gives away all of the $996,631.90, which was the budget for the video.

He made everyone a part of the production. The focus was on the community for a change and various people who needed some financial support, and not all about the artist. Through this Hit Single, he definitely touched lived. Drake definitely drove this a different direction.

So inspiring!!!

Random Acts of Flowers!

Have you ever attended an event, like a wedding or funeral, and wondered what happens to all those flowers after everyone goes home?  What about flowers in grocery stores and flower shops, that are not longer fresh enough to sell?  In what may be the ultimate in recycling, “Random Acts of Flowers” takes those flowers and repurposes them into something beautiful and inspiring!

Think about the joy you experience when you give or receive flowers.  That’s the joy that volunteers with “Random Acts of Flowers” get to experience regularly.

The non-profit began in 2007, in Tennessee, by Larsen Jay.  After a near fatal accident Jay credited the daily visitors and dozens of floral arrangements he received as being a crucial element to his recovery.  Once able to leave his room, Jay noticed many other patients sitting alone, in rooms devoid of flowers.  He began going around the hospital gifting some of his floral arrangements to other patients and was struck by the effect it had on them  That’s when the seed for “Random Acts of Flowers” was sewn.

Today this wonderful non-profit has expanded and now has five branches around the country, including Evanston, Illinois.  Teams of volunteers do everything from refreshing the flowers that have been donated, then creating them into beautiful bouquets and arrangements and finally bringing them to patients.  Nurses and caregivers in healthcare facilities and nursing homes identify patients who seem in need of an extra emotional boost.

And science bears them out.  Research shows that patients who receive flowers recover more quickly and require less post-operative pain medication.

Big Up’s for Big Mouth

Netflix’s new show is dirty, raunchy, but most of all hilarious.

We got another binger from Netflix, so clear out your Saturday because Big Mouth is taking you back to that awkward stage we all had growing up. It’s centered around two teens named Nick (Nick Kroll) and Andrew (John Mulaney) dealing with puberty, girls, and everything we remember from middle school.

Big Mouth came from the beautiful mind of Nick Kroll. The first episode is called “Ejaculation” so you can obviously see what your in for. Once you get used to Nick Kroll’s comedy, the show really brings back a lot of the nostalgia and innocence of growing up. It’s hard for kids out there. I remember the crappy stuff like getting bullied and picked on. But I also remember the good stuff like my first true love and my first kiss. They covered all that in just ten episodes. It had me laughing and remembering the good old days of being a kid. Nick and his pals captured so many moments of growing up and I can’t wait for season 2!

Big Mouth was released on September 29, 2017, so if you haven’t checked it out yet add it to the watch list and remember what it’s like growing up.
